I, like many, moved here in my twenties with my skis and a Subaru. I have now lived and participated in the North Tahoe community for 18 years and I like to consider myself experienced in mountain town life. From a life pursuing competitive skiing, my growth into adulthood brought a new desire for purpose, one that I now share with this community in the therapeutic environment. I earned my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Nevada, Reno, and I look forward to serving Truckee-Tahoe as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I have experienced the difficulty that can come in search for the right therapist, and I understand that your life and your time are of immense value.
I provide therapy for teens and adults, individuals, couples and families. Struggles and transitions are inherent parts of life, but also do not come with instructions or understanding. As trite as it sounds, you don’t know until you know. I lean into Existential Therapy practices to help understanding while being open to client needs.
The key to a successful therapeutic relationship is the one we build as therapist and client and is evidence based as foundational to positive outcomes. I strive to build trust and understanding in an open and nonjudgmental space bringing empathy, education and a little humor. I have a unique background, experienced in lifestyles more common to our little corner of the world.
If you’re ready to get started, I always offer a 15-min consult (if desired) to see if we are a good fit. I’d love to help you or a member of your family get the help they need to live better.
