Community Programs

Thursdays, 1:00-2:00 pm

A free weekly support group for those in a helping profession during the Coronavirus pandemic.

A free group provided by Clinical Director, Lindsay Simon, LMFT. Each week participants will learn and practice relaxation skills such as guided meditation and progressive muscle relaxation, cognitive and emotional coping skills from CBT and DBT, and connect with others experiencing similar difficulties so you feel less isolated and more validated in your experience. Learn about the impact of stress on the brain and body based on the latest research.

Whether you are teaching students, working in the medical field, providing a much needed social service, or any essential service during this time, feeling connected to others going through similar struggles is helpful and validating. The opportunity to learn concrete tools to help ease the burden of additional stress during this time makes this support group an amazing free offering. You can access this weekly meeting by emailing to request the Zoom meeting ID.

Tuesdays 6:00-7:00 pm - by donation

SMART is a national program that uses science-based interventions to manage addictive behaviors through self-empowerment, choice, personal responsibility, and proven principles of change.

The purpose of SMART is to support individuals who have chosen to quit, or are considering quitting any addictive behaviors (substances or activities), by teaching how to change self-defeating thinking, emotions, and actions. Over time group members learn skills and support each other in building long-term satisfaction and quality of life to produce lasting change.

Attendance verification provided upon request.

Do you experience emotions more intensely than others? Do you wish you had better control of your reactions, and that you could express your needs and wants, calmly and clearly?

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is for anyone who'd like to improve their ability to handle relationship conflicts, stress, and difficult emotions. Originally developed to treat personality disorders, DBT has been shown to be highly effective for a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, chronic pain, eating disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorder and substance abuse. You will learn skills that allow you to take control of your reactions (rather than having emotions run the show), so you can navigate conflicts, personally & professionally, more effectively.

Cost | $30 or save $60 by paying $330 up front to cover 12 sessions + intake

New participants are welcome every fourth class - call to schedule your intake interview with Karen.
